Please reach us at pier@pier-review.net if you cannot find an answer to your question.
We offer a various services, including a full policy review of home, auto and/or business programs. This includes making sure that you have sufficient coverage for your structure, personal property, other structures and additional living expenses. You will receive an easily understandable report that you can use to communicate with your agent regarding any potential changes. I am essentially your own personal risk manager.
In the unfortunate event of a loss, while I cannot be your representative to your insurer, I am available to assist in reviewing your situation and will provide frank and honest feedback as to potential coverage and next steps. If desired, we can help you in collecting/preparing your claims documentation that you can then present to your insurance company. If there is a subsequent disagreement over an existing claim, I can represent you through the mediation/appraisal dispute resolution process.
Some agents will review your policy with you to explain what’s covered, but did they offer alternatives? And when the policy changes, will they keep you informed? I don’t earn commissions from selling policies, so my only interest is ensuring you have the best coverage for your exposure and risk tolerance.
If you are concerned that:
a) you don't have enough coverage, or
b) perhaps too much coverage or, even more importantly,
c) the wrong coverage?
I can help. There are gaps in the policy or losses that are excluded that can possibly be endorsed to fill those gaps. If you have questions about your policy, I can provide the answers.
Should you decide to engage Pier Review, the first step entails providing us with a full copy of your policy(ies), including all endorsements. If you don't have them, a copy can be obtained from your agent or carrier. Then a discussion will take place regarding the insured property, your desired outcome and your personal risk tolerance. A detailed analysis will then be performed on your policy, a review of data specific to your property and any other provided/supporting information. Finally, a report will be prepared outlining your current coverages, their sufficiency, any gaps or potential exposures and recommendations for changes to either better protect you or to generate savings of your premium dollars.
As a consultant, I am paid by the hour (billed in .25 increments). Most standard policy consultations require 2-3 hours to complete, though if you have multiple properties/policies, it might take a bit longer.
I have worked for insurance companies for the vast majority of my career, where I learned how to easily read and interpret insurance contracts. Now I am using those skills to make sure that you, the consumer, are properly protected prior to a claim event occurring.
